Bronco vin

Hi everyone,

This is my first post and first step to rebuilding my bronco. I’ve located the vin number on the frame. Body has no vin, no glovebox and different body anyway. But I took the frame into WSP Washington State Patrol to have it inspected so I could get registration, but they said they can’t find the vin anywhere in the system. I’ve also tried online and can’t find any info on this vin. I’m not looking to decipher it, but just proof that this vehicle existed so I can register it. The vin on the frame says U14GLF95046. But the F could possibly be a E, the bottom part of the letter is rusty. If I could figure out the picture icon I would attach one. I just want to get it right so when I get my glovebox tag and rest of my identification plates they are correct. Does anyone know a source that I can verify my vin?

The first place I would try would be Marti Auto. Try them at www.martiauto.com.
They have all the old info and can tell you right off the top if it doesn’t exist in their system either.
I assume you tried both E and F with WSP? You could do the same with Marti.
Maybe they can steer you into what other discrepancy might be keeping it from your particular DMV.
Maybe it’s just aged out? Was it registered in another state when you bought it?

Oh, and on the picture thing, you have to be a contributor for $12 a year to post images directly to your discussion.
Alternate methods while you’re getting used to the site, could be uploading them to your “garage“ and/or “gallery“ functions in the user CP above.
You can also utilize an online image hosting site, such as super motors, then link the images here in the discussion.
Personally, I think the 12 bucks a year is totally worth it to make it easier to upload. I know a lot of sites let you do it free of charge, but the 12 bucks keeps us going in the high-quality and good format that we enjoy.

Welcome!

I agree with Paul, the $12 is defiantly worth it, and so is a Marti report. Just one correction, Marti doesn't have all the old Ford info, just the 1967 and newer vehicles.

I agree on getting a Marti. While that won’t give any history of ownership, it will verify that it’s a legitimate Bronco VIN. One point of concern is that frame stamping errors are more common than most would think. I’ve had several with errors. Hopefully yours is accurate.

As far as the DMV not having it in their system, that’s very common, especially if it’s been unregistered for a long period.

The F is most likely an E like you stated imo. The 95046 would follow along in the E number sequence. Guessing an April 69' built half cab with a 302. If you send the F vin to Marti I bet it comes back invalid.

Some charts have the 69 production skewed. 69 is the year the sequence would’ve jumped from 14k units per month to 20k at some point.

For example, I have E53031 which was a mid December build. Broncohio says it’s a January.

F95046 could’ve been a June/July 69 build, but could also be a E95046 built in February/March 69.

Here’s another example, F59301 here is one I previously owned, Built May of 69. Some charts push it back months later.

Thank you,
Yes I will check martiauto tomorrow. But your right 12$ isn’t much especially since I dont know much about these early broncos.
