I'm not familiar with this top, but I don't see a lip at the top of the door opening for the weatherstrip to attach too. What's the plan there?

I just checked the measurement on my top, and it is exactly 21 inches as well. If yours is longer than that, I would say that is the cause of the issue.

It came with 2 pieces (supposed to be 3 pieces but one of them must have fallen out of the broken crate) of angled fiberglass strips that you’re supposed to bond to the frame and use for your weatherstrip. I’m not using them, I’m going to use some aluminum angle instead. That fiberglass will crack out in no time.

I’ve had several people ask about door gaps and if that may be the problem so I got some pics of the door lineup and I’m pretty happy with how they look, I can’t believe that’s the problem. Also after block sanding the gap is a lot closer and might be manageable with a little more massaging.

I have a 67 bronco with a 66 hard top and it fits and looks like your top with a gap above the door. Any chance that you have a 67. I was told once by a prominent bronco shop that 67 was unique in the fit of the roof. Don't know if this is true.

No it’s a 74….but the doors aren’t original? Could that be the problem? They are definitely post ‘68 doors because they don’t have the removable window frame.

The one common thing I have found with "bolt on" parts are they only get you close. Most of the time they take a lot of massaging to get them to fit. It looks like you're getting close.

Is it possible someone built your doors from parts? I think window frames can be ordered separate from the door shell and be put together.

Going back to the original pic, the issue appears to be at the window frame. If the frame / body mounts are off, this could / would cause the problem at the windshield frame.

On a flat surface, if the measurements of the top are the same, that would rule out the top.

My guess is if that strip was on there (like it is on the side) it would match the gap on the side. Hard to tell though in a picture but the side gap looks he same as the top gap but, because its white you don't notice it.

I been curious, watching this thread since it started, what is the dimension of the top that the others have shared? does it measure the 21" like the other?

this fit fine. a 1/4" flat bar attaches rack to internal cage. a cut 1/4" rubber gasket roll took up the rest.

So I wanted to update this post with my completed project. After quite a bit of sanding, massaging and fitting this too came together really nice. The fact of the matter is, fiberglass has a lot of flaws and is a pain in the ass but once you get it right, it should last a long time. Here are a few pics of my bronco with the top mounted and most of it finished up. Still a couple of things to finish up on this old ‘74 bronco but she looks, runs and sounds really nice. I’m very pleased with how far it has come since I bought it 6+ years ago. daily driver capable now with the addition of edelbrock pro-flo 4 fuel injection on a rebuilt roller cam 306, DOM crossover steering, new suspension, hard top, vintage air heat and air conditioning, 35” Nitto ridge grappler tires on 17” method wheels and all new tinted glass. I love this bronco and hope to keep it In the family for many more generations. The door panels with spreaker pods are made by Jason Gamroth and the hard top is designed and built by Corey Sunday of Broncodesign. I feel the color combo of gunmetal grey and desert sand is unique but I didn’t want it to look like anything else you see! Hope you like it.

Beautiful, the wheel centers and top pull that color combination together nicely. Congrats and enjoy!

Interesting. I was really thinking about getting this top. Not really understanding why a fiberglass top would need to be sanded and a random stock top would not.
