In recent months (the past three to be exact) I have found (2) neglected Broncos that I have made mine. The first was a '74 Sequoia Brown Metallic U15 that I found in an abandoned 1800's log house/farmhouse up in North GA where my inlaws have a cabin. I wrote all about it in a post titled "Harmlessly Trespassing". It had been there for years and only used to plow the driveway if it snowed (not very often in GA and the driveway never saw salt so it was okay as far as rust went other than the front floors and outer rockers). My son and I finally convinced the owner that it would be better with us and we towed it back to Atlanta were we are working on it for his first driver (he is 15 now). He wanted the plow so I happily let him keep it to get the EB.
The second one is an EB that I have been reluctant to even mention yet until the deal was sealed. It is a '69 U15 that had been parked for years in a lean-to on a farm. Son of original owner had it and just listed it to to health and employment issues with his family. It is a nice, solid Bronco with only some mechanical needs as well as some new front seats (they have denigrated which is puzzling for a truck that is so solid elsewhere), driver's side is just the metal frame and springs???? I love the Reef Aqua original paint and the fact that it is still rust and dent-free with original paint. I have owned over (15) EBs the past 35 years, but never one in the 60s, so this '69 will broaden my horizons a little more. I pick it up tomorrow evening and can't wait to get it home!
