PA Buick 215 V8 Engine

Posting this up for a real good buddy, I know it isn't Ford but figured there might be someone into cool motors here. This thing would be rad in a hotrod or no hood ride.

Buick 215 V8
Built by Mark LaGrou of D&D Fabrications.
-bored to 219 ci
-compression ratio 10:1
-custom Egge pistons
-recond. connecting rods
-new crank balanced
-heads 34 cc with oversized valves
-custom machined crank pulley
-custom machined water pump pulley
-high volume oil pump
-high volume water pump
-160 degree thermostat
-custom machined clockable thermostat housing
-crower cam 276 degrees 488 lift
-new valve springs
-new rocker shafts
-billet rocker shaft supports
-edelbrock intake manifold
-edelbrock carb
-timing chain set
-Hastings moly rings
-pertronix ign no more points
-one piece rear main seal
-oil pan powder coated wrinkle black
-ranger rover valley cover
-arp head studs, main studs, and connecting rod hardware
-Offenhauser valve covers nos machined to give leak free operation
-hybrid clutch z28 flywheel, T5 mustang disc, and z29 pressure plate

Engine builder did a couple hour break in run, and motor is ready to drop in and go.

cute little motor. this looks like the aluminum block motor but it seem to have iron heads. Cant tell with the silver paint. They made this motor in an all aluminum version for one year 1963 I think. Then they dumped the aluminum and went to iron. Still a good performer for its small displacement.

after reading this add I guess it was 1961 that the all aluminum version was introduced.

I had one back in the day. As I remember the 215 was all aluminum. The next motor up has a cast block & Aluminum head or Vice Verse... Mine was in a little 2 door hard top Skylark. White car & Black Buckets .. It was a neat little car.
