Does protofab have a website? I love the prerunner look, but are their cheaper lookalikes? Also, I have a 3.5" susp lift and 2" body lift. Does that make a difference??? Thanks
Protofab - www.protofab4x4.com
I've heard that some of the other sellers sell Protofab parts as thier own, but I am not sure. But you can always build your own for cheap...so long as you can weld and have a bender.... ;D
yeah, build your own. With the money you save you could buy a little hydrualic pipe bender ($65)and a used welder. Then you can build a rear bumper/ tire carrier + build shock hoops and whatever else you can think of.
I built mine and am happier with them than I would have been with any manufactured one because they are the way I would build them.
I'm a Duff product fan myself and owner, I like the look and quality. Lift of any sort shouldnt matter, mine is attached within the front truck Frame stock.

If I have a 2" body lift, is it necessary to buy the Duff bumper modified for this body lift?

I would spend the extra money for the body lift bumper from any company you go with. It gets rid of the gap and looks much better.... I like the protofab bumpers after seeing 66horses, they are very well built!!
Both Duff and Protofab are first class in both design, construction and finish. The answer to your question is one of personal preference based on function and look. You would be very happy with either.

I have the Protofabs on mine, and I think they are awesome. The quality is excellent, and the welds are beautiful.WELL worth the price. They are not just built, they are engineered. There are lots of little details in Protofabs that other bumpers don't have.
Here is a link to some pics of a Protofab-equipped EB involved in a collision with a Dakota.

The Bronco drove home. The Dakota was totaled.

That wasn't my Bronco, that link is a year old.
I do hope the Dakota driver was ok though.

I have the protofab front prerunner bumper and the rear prerunner from duffs. Both are very well made and I dont think you could go wrong with either one. I also have a body lift and both bumpers are for the body lift. They dont use brackets the channel that slides in the frame rails is stacked on the front bumper and that raises it up. The rear is basically the same. I hope this makes sense. Both bumpers look great.
I've got the Duff's-own pre-runner rear with both tire swing and gas/cooler swing. I like the design of the swing mounts better than what I saw on the protofab (WH also sells this). Look closely how the protofab swing mount hangs down below the bottom of the bumper - looks like a rock magnet to me. But, I haven't off-road tested mine yet so "YMMV".
