If I remember correctly, that’s about the new sticker for a ‘71. My college roommate ordered a ‘77 and he wrote a check for $5,800 when we picked it up.

Here is what I paid over the years for Broncos.
In 1978 I purchased a 1977 Ranger, with 12,000 miles on it, for $5,500.

In 1983, a 1975 Ranger for $4100.

In 1986 I bought two Broncos. A base model 1973 for $3200, but only had it for three weeks. A National Guard solder followed me into my work place and wanted to buy it. He offer me $5800, so I let it go. I probably wound not have sold it, if I hadn't known about another 1977 Ranger for sale. Not as clean as the 73 but worth the price of $3000. Not to mention the quick $2800 profit. I got the 73 for a steal. It had new paint and fresh motor rebuild.

I purchased my current 1976 Special Decor, with 73000 miles, in 2011, for $10.500.

I sure do miss the old prices.
