walker949 I just checked out the Autolite 4100 and http://www.ponycarburetors.com I tell you I am tempted in one of them 4100's that they make into a 480 cfm carb.

you will never regret it. Got a 2100 from those people and man what a difference from my holley 2350. tech support was great carb was everything you could ask for.

Had a 4100 but needed a 2100. Pony even worked a deal with me to get mine. great people

they are completely different
All the faults of the stock carb (stumbling, rough idle etc) are engineered out and the carbs are tested on REAL motors before shipping. completely new, all instructions included.
Told them what I had (355, mild cam, standard exhaust, automatic tranny) and they built the carb to fit my needs. It was perfect.
HIGHLY recommend these people know their stuff!!

I love my truck avenger, but this was going to be my suggestion. Truck avenger is expensive and gets bad gas milage. I think someone said you can get a rebuilt 2100 for like $90. On a stock motor a 2100 would run better anyways, unless you plan on spending time and money changing jets and stuff.

I have no clue what vehicle mine's off of, I got it in a trade.

I can get some numbers off of my carb, but it'll be Sunday before I can. Let me know.

Yeah, that'd help me out a lot. Thanks.

I used a Holley for years and hated it. Changing the jets was especially ridiculous with the front bowl being removed to do so. I tore it off and went with an Edelbrock. With off-road needle and seat it runs mucho better than the Holley ever did. Ditto the 2100; nice compromise carb, but not up to my style of tilted and bouncy wheeling. The Edelbrock seems completely happy.

Holley, most definately, user tunable. parts easily accessable. easy to work on. for off road, spring loaded needle and seat, vent whistle, raise vent tube to within one fourth inch from air cleaner. have a good carb shop help with jet selection. a worn throttle shaft does not deem it junk! the carb shop can rebush it. my carb works awesome on road and off. for less than 75.00 in parts.

So when my TA 470 comes in on tuesday...I have to take it to select what kind of jets I want?...or can I just pretty much bolt it on out of the box...What exactly needs to be done when I slap on that new car besides re attaching all the wires and tubes?...

Not sure what sized jets the 470 comes with but you should be able to bolt it on and run it then check the jetting to ensure you are not running to lean. most holley's are jetted rich from the factory as they set them up for sea level. If you find you need to lean or richen it out do so with jets 2 sizes bigger or smaller at a time if you only go 1 size you usually dont see much of a change

The only other things you should do is check the float level to ensure its good and set the idle to what you want other than that you should be good to go

I have been running the Holley 2300 on a lot of different vehicles lately, and I don't have any complaints. I ran it on an f-150 with 400M, bronco with 302, it has worked great in all situations. I am now using it on my figure 8 car - I adapted it to my olds 350 for my 75 cutlass. I can't imagine any way it could be abused more, and I never have had any problems.
