My bronco makes a squeeling noise while I'm excelerating. Then kind of a rattleling noise when I let off the peddle. It still shifts fine but noise has me worried. It only does it while driving. Any ideas what is causing the noise? Bad cv joint and drive shaft was not sliding freely. thanks for the help.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the trans? I had the same exact problem you are describing that drove me nuts trying to find it. Turns out it was actually the right rear axle bearing. I replaced that and no more problems. Get someone to help you pinpoint where the noise is coming from, since I can't hear the actual sounds, it's tough to diagnose. If I had to take a guess, I would look at the drivelines and diffs first. Wouldn't hurt to invest in a mechanics stethescope either.
