Can anyone ID this gas tank?

This is one of the very few seemingly well built things on this truck. Does anyone recognize it? I have never seen a steel stock tank this big before, but it has all the vacuum connections and looks very well done. The truck is a 75, it had a very home made skid

plate under it. Thanks all!

I thought it might be from Aero Tanks, like mine but there are differences. Don't see the side mounting brackets and the recessed gauge area.

Mine looks like that. I bought mine in '94 I think, from Jeff's. 23 gallon. I don't think mine has that guard on the front of the tank for the fuel line though.

Alright, so at least it the consensus is that it's an aftermarket 23 gallon. From the rest of the truck I would have expected the stock tank with a couple canteens screwed to it with fuel line stuck in them....

I'll get it blasted and put it to work!! Thanks everyone!

If it hasn't been run in a while, pull the sender and look around the inside to make sure it doesn't have rust flaking off inside. You don't want to have to fight that after you get the outside all cleaned up.

How would you modify it to use a in-tank pump? Mine is super close to the body as is. Just curious. I don't know for certain I want to go to EFI, but might want to put a low pressure pump in tank for use with explorer front dress, until I decide to go to EFI. Or just use an external regulator for pump pressure.

I'll echo that I think it's a NWMP tank - I modified one a few months ago for an in-tank EFI pump using a modified Tanks Inc. pump module.

Todd,

Do you happen to have a part number for the pump you used? Thanks!

Don
I believe it was this one:

https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/...duct_id=84/category_id=61/mode=prod/prd84.htm

And as I look at closer at that tank, I think that's an earlier tank than the one I modified. However, the model I posted above would work as long as you can cut the hole larger. I did that with the tank I modified. I used a jigsaw to enlarge the hole. If you use the model I linked, you'll need to put some spacers on top of those bumpers at the corners to space the tank down from the body a bit. I also modified the drop-in unit a bit for fitment - it wasn't anything major as I'm not a fab guy. I have pics of how I did it if anyone ever needs it.

Since I like to encourage other people to spend their $$, I'd also highly recommend one of the ISSPRO float less senders that WH, Tanks Inc., and others sell. Most accurate sending unit I've ever had in a Bronco tank.

NWMP sold the rights, or morphed into Sunset Fab, who made those tanks for awhile. If the design went to Aero, it was after that.

I would have to say that it didn’t need to go, or have anything to do with Aero Tanks. They’ve been making their own EB tanks since the 70s at least, if not before.
I’ve run both and they both work very well.

At one point, most of the Bronco vendors sold the NWMP tanks in various sizes and to accommodate various body lifts.
