Can original sterring wheel be converted to fit modern tilt column?

I would like to retain the original look to my eb, therefore would like to use the original steering wheel with half-moon horn ring on a modern Ididit tilt column. There's a place in California that converts older steering wheels but for some reason does not work on our type of steering wheel. Does anyone know where I can get it converted?

Also, I had thought about having the original wheel downsized, and I found a guy in New Jersey that can do it, however the problem is the half-moon horn ring (the horn ring cannot be downsized). Now wondering would there be enough room between the horn ring and steering wheel if downsized to 15"?

Sounds like you already have the new Ididit column? If not, one more option for you would be to use our "direct fit" Ididit column and not have to modify your steering wheel.
The column costs more than a standard one, but depending on what it costs to mod the wheel, that cost could be at least partially negated by that option.

Just a thought.
