It kinda looks like a turn signal switch mounting plate of sorts, but i can not find anything online that is similar.

I'm with you. It looks like a retrofit bracket to replace the top half of the D3TZ-3511-D Steering Column Tube Flange. It certainly isn't an OEM Ford part. Possibly to adapt an early (non hazard) turn signal switch in a late 73-77 column. It needs another piece to make it attach to a Bronco column.

Maybe your buddy threw that in the parts bin for you just for this moment, throwing you and this forum into a tail-spin. :eek: :cool: :geek:

I've run across some images that look like that when searching for a Ford Toploader transmission shift tower. Spacing and bolt pattern appear to be very similar. Perhaps it is a billet replacement for that part?

up in your parts bin???:oops::rolleyes::oops:

Ben, you at SC? We had a last minute emergency and couldn't make it. Miss seeing all y'all!!

I think Jamesroney is on to something, but I still can't figure it out. Here's an image of the whole steering column/wheel in place. I actually have all those pieces, but they are all separate right now. I'll see if that piece is need to re-assemble it.

The Google Lens extension says:
The object in the image is identified as a Norton Commando Mk3 alternator mount, which can also be compatible with Atlas, Dominator, BSA, Triumph, AJS, and Manx ES2 models. The text "FORD" is visible on the part, suggesting it may be related to or adapted for use with Ford vehicles from the 1973-1977 era. These vehicles could include the Ford Bronco, F100, and F150. The part is likely made of billet 6061-T6 aluminum for durability and precision. It may function as an alternator bracket, which is used to mount the alternator to the engine. The design features several holes and mounting points, indicating its function in securing the alternator and possibly other components. It's noted that the part could be used with Ford 289, 302, and 351W engines.
