I have more questions than answers.
I have free access to a 83 Ford Crown vic. It has a rebuilt 302 w/tbi and Aod with about 30,000 mile on them both. The car is complete. What if anything is worth removing?

All depends on what you want. The 302 and tbi setup can be run not the best setup but I seen a few guys run it. The AOD well it could be converted for use in a bronco. If it has disc brakes on the rear axle you may be able to use them for a rear disc conversion. Overall unless i just needed any of those parts I probably wouldnt bother with any of them for a bronco. might be worth just selling it all off and buying better stuff for the bronco.

Thinking about using the motor as a band-aid for now. Not in a position to do what I want just yet. I would carb it and swap out the pan. No rear disc or anything special that I know of. Thanks

unforutnetly the band aid will require a few parts to make it work properly in a bronco. flywheel/flex plate is a different balance. not sure on the accessory brackets but you may need to swap the bronco stuff over. but then you may not be able to use the balancer thats on the engine and you cant use the bronco blancers on that engine either.

Sounds like you need a lot more knowlege and ability to pull it off. If your engine is shot it would be easier/cheaper to rebuild it than make all the "swaps" If you don't mind gaining an education along the way that is fine also. So many have started down your road and then wound up posting their frustratons here along the way. Pan/oil pump and intake are two things that would need to be changed along with adding the carb. Front dress is liable to be very different. I can't address the damper/flywheel balance issues as I have not dealt with them and would need help there myself.

All great info. The brackets are different. Swapping over brackets, manifold, pan, etc no big deal these parts I have. Engines being on stands makes it easy. Any other info on the gear box parts would be appreciated. The bronco dampner and flywheel won't inter change?? Don't want to get in to this and find out I am wasting time and money or letting useable parts go to the wrecking yard. Again this is a good running 302 at no cost?? Some time and a few gaskets are cheap only if they will work.
