Carb Choke Question

To the Bronoc Guru's out there..

You guys are the best! I have nearly rebuilt me entire truck with little prior mechanical knowledge just based on information I have found on this website.

I am finally ready to get my truck back on the road after one full year of major reconstruciton (new suspension, all new floors, fenders, door posts, inner fenders, windshield frame, gas tank, radiator, carb, etc., etc., etc.) I had my stock carb rebuilt and they replaced the stock choke with an electronic one that I was told I should hook up to a positive current source that is on when the ignition is turned on. I have a 1970 with the fuse box under the drivers dash. Any suggestions???

The stock electric choke hooked to the STA (stator) connection on the alternator. That way, the choke is only getting current when the engine is running, not just when the key is ON. Some say that the choke doesn't get full 12V there... ?:? Other than that, if you're just looking for a wire in the engine compartment that's hot when the key is ON, use the Green/Red stripe wire (904) going to the voltage regulator.

%) %) %) On my 66 I just run from the ing. switch hot with key on only and has worked since 86 no problems good luck. ;D ;D ;D Bill ;D %)

I've done it both ways on my 71, can't tell the diff. Going to install on my 77 soon, just be sure to use your tester
