Wished I still lived there!! Not much for wheeling around Ames unless you know some farmers that will let you tear around on their land. There are some access areas on the Skunk River that you can get on, but nothing worth bragging about. Good luck.

If you ever need mechanical help, check out the Ford dealership in Nevada. Those guys are great. Tell them the Wyoming Kid sent you.

See ya

Thanks

What brought ya to Cali? I do farm myself and have some nice mud raods within a mile from my house but don't mind to much to go for a drive to spend a weekend wheelin. Anything in MN or WI?

Hi Dodgepaul, There are several 4 wd clubs in Iowa. The closest one is out of Des Moines, it is Central Iowa 4 Wheelers Inc,CI4WI.org. It has links to many of the other clubs.

I live in Indianola. I went to Iowa State in Ames. When I was in school, we used to go terrace jumping... probably wasn't the most legal thing to do. You know what they say, young dumb and full...

I don't really know of any place around there.

I live in Iowa City after college and there is a great place in Solon, IA called "80 acres." Lots of mud trails and hills. Weekends are crazy when it gets nice out. That is only an 1-1/2 away.

Good luck

I belong to Central Iowa and Make it or brake it. Both clubs have some land to camp and wheel on. Also enjoy traveling.
