I haven't had any problems leaking yet; I did use some rtv on the threads of the bolt though. I didn't do one at the top because I figured the fill hole would let enough air in. I don't know how well it drains because I haven't changed the fluid (it's only a month old max), but I'll let you know when I do.

It looks like I am going to pull the third member to drain the fluid.
Does anyone have the part numbers for the gasket or axle seals (NAPA or Autozone)?
Do I neead to replace the copper washers?

I want to makse sure I can get the parts before I tear it open.

Are the axle seals on the inside or outside of the bearing? If I damage one do the bearings have to be removed to replace the seal?

I went to buy the rear diff cover seal a while back. They sold me one. It wasn't till I got under the truck that found

To me, a gasket there is just another leak source. I used RightStuff only. If the washers aren't damaged, there's no reason to replace them. I'd stay OUT of the zone. The axle seals are inboard in the axle housing, so the bearings can stay on the axles.

Another way is to remove rear drive shaft and just pull pinion support.

I never got around to this last year. While I am waiting on a parts order I thought I would tackle this. I am sure it will snowball so before I begin.....

Are the copper washers, axle seals and the gasket available through local parts stores?

I also want to confirm the process.
1 unbolt the retainer though the hole on the hub, slide out the axles a few inches
2 unbolt and remove the third member and remove copper washers.
3 drain
4 reinstall

Is that it? Any adjustments?
If I decide to change the axle seals, do I just pull the axles out all the way and pull the seals?
