What year chevy axles can be used to upgrade early Bronco's to the larger 297 u-joint. This article says no later than 76. So what is the earliest chevy axle year and will they all be the correct spline count for my differential and hubs? Here is the link I was reading. I am aware that I will have to get the longer axle cut and re-splined.

I have used Clutch and Drive in Shreveport for drive shafts but did not think they could cut and re-spline. Thanks for the info. So are all early 70's chevy dana 44 axles the correct spline count for Bronco differentials and hubs?

If I'm not mistaken, what you want are the shafts from the disc braked versions, as the drum brake GM D44s also have the smaller 260X joints. If you're doing disc brakes at the same time, pick up a complete front D44 from the wrecking yard for all the parts. Some good info: http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/web_rs44.html ------------Hans
