I'm sneaking up on having my grill done (in a decade or so) and have the chrome trim surround. Can't figure out how these gizmos are used to attach the trim. Exspurts, wise counsel, please...… Howard, stymied in beautiful west Michigan

Hey Howard, Those retainers slide in the channel on the back of the trim then you push them through your mounting holes on the grill and there should be a solid pin that goes in to hold them tight. They go on the long pieces and there are bolt on retainers used for the two end pieces. I didn't care for the push pin ones and got all the bolt on ones. Ken

I agree I did not like the push pin type and utilized the screw with nut for all the positions

Yeah, thanks guys, that's what I thought. What threw me was that the little roundy pin things don't seem to fit in the opening. I was thinking about using sheet metal screws instead.

Howard I read a thread here about obtaining fasteners, ended up splitting a box of 50 with another member. Not sure if you have a local Fastenal connection to avoid shipping.

On 2nd thought I may use plastic # 10-24 Hex screw nuts.

Wow, that's great Slim, thanks! I just picked up some button head screws for the grill ordered from Fastenal yesterday! Thanks a bunch!

Got a Q for the exspurts - How many clips are used to hold the stock grill trim in place?
