I am planning on painting my Bell housing, NV3550, and D20 with silver Por-15. But first I need to clean and degrease +30 years of crud off of the bell housing and t-case. My question is can I safely use a pressure washer on the bell housing to get the crud off? or will it rust up on me. I know por-15 likes rust but I would just assume avoid it if possible. I was planning to use simple green as the degreaser and then marine clean/metal ready to finish the prep. I am not sure what to do with the t-case as it is separated from the trans and thus is exposed and I know I don’t want water inside the case.

I would also like to clean up my GT-40 lower intake while I have it removed. I know its aluminum and should be fine with the pressure washer but there is some kind of steel plate on the backside, so is this a good idea? Any advice is appreciated.

pressure washing is fine just dont leave it unpainted for long. The gt40 maniol should be fine you can always spray some light oil on it to prevent rusting until installed.

Thanks Hot Wheels and broncnaz for responding. Any one have any ideas on how I should go about cleaning up the seperated transfer case?
