Paint time on my 77 resto. Going Wimbledon White ( original paint code). Should I clear coat it?

Single stage paint? No reason to unless you are trying to gain more gloss. If it’s base clear it’s part of the process.

I've seen folks do the white in ss and the body colors in bc/cc. Works pretty good if the whole top is white, dash, and center of grill. Going this way lets you more easily paint grill all body color in bc/cc then tape off later for ss white over middle section.

Last paint job I did 2x coats single stage, 2x coats 50/50 single stage/clear mix, 2x coats clear. The final coats of clear give it a real nice gloss and it seemed to sand/buff out easier than single stage (may have been imagining that though). Make sure your paints are compatible
