Close to Factory Tilt Column???

I'm a big fella (6'2" 260) and I have had some problems in the past with the straight steering columns that came in early Broncos. I have read quite a few of the posts on replacement options from the bone yard, Flaming River and Iditit(sp?). Since I'm not a big fan of the polished or bright stainless look, I would like to keep the appearance pretty close to original. I will only have about a week at home to install a tilt column in my 73 Bronco before I ship it overseas for a tour in Germany.

Are there any direct bolt in factory Ford options out there that would not require welding, etc... I installed a tilt for an automatic from a 79 ford F150 in mine and it was easier than I expected, I'm no mechanic by any means and have been happy with it. You may have to remove the firewall seal on the newer column. The wire plug went right to my existing. In retrospect I should have rebuilt it first.

Thanks for the help. Aside from the firewall seal, what else did you have to modify. How well did the shift linkage mount to your existing transmission?
