I'm a big fella (6'2" 260) and I have had some problems in the past with the straight steering columns that came in early Broncos. I have read quite a few of the posts on replacement options from the bone yard, Flaming River and Iditit(sp?). Since I'm not a big fan of the polished or bright stainless look, I would like to keep the appearance pretty close to original. I will only have about a week at home to install a tilt column in my 73 Bronco before I ship it overseas for a tour in Germany.
Are there any direct bolt in factory Ford options out there that would not require welding, etc... I saw this style on ebay and thought perhaps it might be an option. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-1979-Ford-Truck-Tilt-Steering-Column-78-79-Bronco_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1419Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem160297174105QQitemZ160297174105QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesI would sure appreciate any recommendations.
