Hey everyone, I am in the process of ordering parts to replace my clutch in my '76 3 speed with a small block in it and was going to replace my clutch fork while I was at it.
Went to order and asked if it was a 'metal clip or wire retainer'. Says I need to look for a rectangular hole in bellhousing to see. The tranny is still in Bronco, so is this rectangular hole visible on the outside? Where is this? Thank you

The rectangular hole is where the clutch fork goes in. Look inside the hole with the clutch fork removed and see how the clutch fork pivots inside the bell housing.

It should be the clip style. But are you replacing the fork or the pivot?
They are not normally wear items, so unless you know there’s a problem, you don’t normally have to have one on hand for a replacement.

After looking around it seems it should be the clip style. I've been having clutch adjustment issues and since the ol girl is almost 50 years old, I'd rather have the peace of mind to go ahead and replace it while I'm in there. When I'm done, everything will be new from the clutch pedal to the pilot bearing.
