Color Match the Top Dark Jade Metallic or Leave it White

I've got the top off and finishing up rust repair on the floor. The interior is going to be black linex when completed. I've got all of the aluminum trim for the Bronco. The white top with this body color really looks out of place and I've been leaning toward color matching it to the body, which is Dark Jade Metallic.

Thoughts and or pictures are welcomed.

Thanks,

Heitz

I really like the solid color look of a matching top. The 76-77 Special Decor Broncos had the Body Color Top as an option.

Here are some pics to get an idea of what it's gonna look like. The green one is very close to your color, if not the same.

rguest3,

I do as well, mine has all of the aluminum trim which will really look good against the dark green. I ordered the deluxe build sheet from FoMoCo the other day to see what all it came with when it left the factory. That first bronco is really close to my color.

Thanks,

Heitz

X3 -- That would look really nice. And you are right, the Wimbledon White top does not look as "proper" on the Dark Jade as it does on the reds, pastels, oranges, & gingers.

Ren71,

I was really leaning toward black, so I don't run into any issues matching the paint. It's either going black or color match at this point and the white is out.

Thanks,

Heitz

I think color matched top too. Silver or black grill.

I always thought is was strange to have an off road vehicle with white seats, dash and top.

Definitely vote for mathing color on that green. I have never seen this pic before, but I have seen a few of the dark Jade with white top (there is one locally) and never cared for that color combo. I have the dark jade color (love it) and if it had a hard top, I would do this scheme- it would look good with the 37" tires!!

I like both. I have the jade with the white top and I like the contrast, and it complements my wimbleton colored dash and parchment interior. But I also like matching colors. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

My seats are a bit on the rare side, green vinly with brown hounds tooth. Not sure how many they made with this color. The PO took the original seat out, so it's got an aftermarket seat. Black, green and chrome it will be.

Matching top color has my vote if you can get a good color match to your original paint. If not then I say go black on the hard top.

To a certain extent I feel that the top color depends on how much you drive it in hot (make that HOT) weather.

A dark colored roof will absorb a lot of heat.

The before or as I got it photos are in my garage. I will post some more as this project progresses. Every time I fix one thing, I find three more little things to address. The PO, did everything to 90%. Quite aggrevating to say the least.
