Complete Off Road Front Hoop Cage Kit Install

Guys, I'm getting ready to tie my cage to the frame using the Complete Off Road Kit's. At the front tie-in's there is a gusset on the underside that is in the way which has to be highly modified or eliminated all together. On their website it looks like it was completely cut out. Before I start cutting I was hoping for some incite on what others have done. Also, is there any problem with stability in that section or is it made up by the tie-in kit. If not what have you done to fix that problem. As a side note, I am adding bushings to the kit. I posted the link so you can see their install photo at the bottom of the page.

I just cut it off flush. I doesn't seem to be doing much.

I added 2x2 under my floor support only because my prior Bronco's floor support bent/failed (but it failed with the gusset still installed). You need a 2inch body lift for my method.

Thanks for the response and pictures. I'm also wondering about the channel. Should I notch into it or just bolt up to it, or add support. I have visions of the bolts bending the bottom plate or caving in the channel causing a not so secure fit. Maybe tubing the bolts ? Maybe I'm overthinking the entire thing !!!

Using spacers and/or washers is probably a good idea to ensure the channel does not crush. The COR picture shows something installed.
