This article gets re-edited every year, since they made this concept bronco. The only difference is that they keep changing the year to match the current year.

Just talked to my contact at Ford... You will have to trust me, he is very well placed... Anyways he says no.. Although they played with the Bronco name for some of their overseas models, there is nothing on the drawing board for the US or anything that would reflect the true broncos of yore. On top of that retro is not something Ford is doing anymore. Even the new Mustang is a total departure from the retro theme of 2005.

That being said, Jeep's profit margins have not gone unnoticed.
Sorry...............

Lots of chat about it on this Forum %) http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235581&highlight=2015+bronco and http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235431&highlight=2015+bronco and even more http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235363&highlight=2015+bronco not rying to be a $%#@* but I think this about the 5th thread or so in the last month about a 2015 Bronco that's not going to happen. I would think if it was a reality there would be more info out there other then some lame web site with pictures of the 2004 concept Bronco, rant over ;D

Personally, I am honestly not that crazy about the concept Bronco. Maybe in person it would be different but they could do ALOT better than that in my humble opinion. As for the new mustang, sure it is completely new but I still see some retro in the styling. I think the new Mustang looks pretty sweet.

Still blows my mind how FORD is ignoring the success of the current Wrangler! I honestly have to question their sanity even considering all of the beautiful cars that the blue oval has produced lately and there have been many. Hopefully they pull their heads out of their collective ASSES and bring back the Bronco! ;D

I too wish they would bring back the Bronco. But unfortunately I'm not sure how wise of a business decision it would be. With CAFE regulations, safety regulations, fleet fuel efficiency regulations, etc., I highly doubt they would be able to give us something we would recognize and appreciate as a Bronco. And I, for one, would rather they keep the name retired than slap it on something that isn't worthy of it.

Yes the Wrangler has been successful. I work in the Jeep aftermarket and make my living off of the fact that so many are of them out there with more being produced every day. But even the Wrangler is going soft. Its been getting more round and plastic each year, and the latest news is it will probably be going to IFS with the next major overhaul.

Remember, Ford is the only one of the Big Three that weathered the economic crisis without a government bailout and/or takeover by a foreign company. So its hard to say they're not making the right decisions, at least for them and their shareholders, if not for us as enthusiasts of the classic Ford models.

If they built one they'd take an escape and just rebadge it
Like the do for all the Lincolns

Then wonder why it didn't sell

Only way they could work it financially would be to buy the frame and firewall of a wrangler and put a bronco body on it

The car I wanna see em build was the "forty-nine"

That was 14 years ago and it's still fresh and timeless

Retro is not a bad thing
The japenese will probably always be able to make a vehicle that's more reliable and holds its value better than the big three

But the Japanese and European and Korean companies don't have anything old and cool to retro copy except the beetle

But if you stay true to what your vehicle is supposed to be like Porsche and jeep CJ/Wrangler. Then you don't have to retro it because you never screwed it up in the first place

But the Japanese and European and Korean companies don't have anything old and cool to retro copy except the beetle

I don't know why you would think that.

Japanese companies Nissan and Toyota both have classic 4x4s to draw from.

The Nissan Patrol:

The original Toyota FJ 40:

1979_Toyota_Landcruiser_FJ40_Front_1.jpg

Toyota did make a modern 4x4, drawing inspiration from the old FJ line in the FJ Cruiser, I think it looks pretty goofy but none the less a modern 4x4.

And Nissan makes a modern 4x4. The above photos I searched for online, but this photo is my own daily driver Xterra. Most people overlook these, but look a little harder at it. It's a legit 4x4.

I drive what Ford didn't offer. Would I have preferred a Ford, sure, but now I'm in this Nissan, and think it's a great vehicle, am I going to get all gung ho about getting a Ford later? That is the question Ford wonders every time anyone jumps ship and shifts their brand loyalties when customers can't find a vehicle in their lineup that meets their needs or wants.

And as far as the Europeans go, they have a lot of 4x4 history. Like Land Rover, those have been around a while. In fact, Ford owned them a while.

And don't forget Mercedes, they made the Unimog for a long time.

There is a lot of 4x4 inspiration to pull from, all over the world. But, most other parts of the world still have 4x4's. Ford still sells Rangers overseas, new, Diesel, up to date Rangers.

The Nissan patrol somehow doesnt spring to mind when you think of classic cars

The old FJs are cool and the retro one was pretty good off road
The old Land Rovers are cool

But everything else from the Europeans and Japanese in the 60s and 70s was hideous looking until the Celica. Which was a 65% scale copy of the Mustang

I just can't figure out why Ford sells the good stuff everywhere else but here

A crew cab 4 wheel drive turbo diesel 5 speed solid axle Ranger

No one in the US would want that !
Why bother putting any effort into making it keep US requirements,
We'll just say we couldn't meet emission requirements, no one will notice that V W , Mercedes, BMW, Audi and others have no problem meeting US emissions, no one will find out that we just arent smart enough to engineer it.
And who needs small fuel efficient pickups to meet CAFE ?
Not us.

Give us the 4 cylinder automatic Front Wheel Drive unibody Exploder copy of the Honda Pilot

Why not just buy a Pilot?
Judging from past history , Odds are it will be more reliable and have much better resale than a explorer.

The Xterra is a nice vehicle BTW

Everyone thought coming out with it would steal sales away from the Pathfinder. And when the X terra cameout. The pathfinder sales actually went up

Same with the new retro beetle. The brainiacs in VW corporate didn't want to sell it because they thought it would steal sales away from the Golf and Jetta.

Same result, sales of the Jetta and Golf went up as thousands of people came in the showrooms to see the amazing new beetle, decided it wasn't large enough and wound up buying a Jetta instead

This story seems to be getting more legs, in bits and pieces...

While speculating on the future of the Raptor, and the apparent absence of its 6.2L engine from the 2015 F150 lineup, the editors at Extreme Off-Road had this to say after speaking with "anonymous sources" from Ford:

"We also couldn’t get anyone to go on record to so much as talk about a future Raptor vehicle or Raptor replacement, which has started setting off alarm bells. Once we expressed concern however, our unnamed source reassured us that “something exciting” was in the works for the off-road crowd, though they couldn’t elaborate beyond that. So allow us to speculate wildly; is an EcoBoost Bronco SUV set to make a debut sometime this year? We don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up…but maybe?"

As much as I would love to see them make it, my wife would be pissed. She would never understand me having my 73 EB, 13 Raptor and a new Bronco.

Believe it when I see it.....

I agree. I am torn on the idea but every time I get into a new vehicle I like the new stuff but then think about why they no longer make a simple utilitarian based vehicle anymore like our EB's. Sure it would be cool but would it garner the following we have for our EB's?

There is nothing on that rig that is off road worthy, just another grocery getter, its prob based on the Escape platform. If they are going to build a Bronco build something that is worth sporting the Bronco name and can really compete in the off road market.
