Just wanted to confirm that this was the PO’s solution for using a stock brake hose with an old block lift. I’m getting ready to try to tackle a brake issue soon and I’ve got some new extended hoses to swap out and was going to move everything back down to the vent bolt while messing with the other stuff. Thanks

Correct. A quite common method before longer brake lines were readily available or understood.
A lot of full-size truck lift kits still do something similar.
A little rough in your case, but effective.
And at least they were thinking about it!
