How would one convert the old style steering column to accept the column mounted hazard switch?

You need a 74+ turn signal switch ($50) and a 74+ Turn signal housing ($50). This assumes you already have an AT or relocated your manual to the floor.

And because the horn contacts are completely different, you will need a 74 and later steering wheel as well.

I have the Tom's off-road steering wheel and adapter, so sounds like I just need the turn signal housing and switch?
Thanks

Tom's sells 2 different adapters, the difference is the horn contacts.

. . and it appears there are four flavors of turn signal switch housings, depending on transmission and year/serial number.
I suspect you would only be interested in the 73/77 version to get hazard switch on column.
