core support on center?

I've been replacing most of my front clip and have read that the core support isn't supposed to be on center. This doesn't make much sense as the fenders connect to the sides...……..

I'm getting ready to weld in the body supports and wanting to only do this once so any info on this would be appreciated.

Thx!

I can't imagine it not being centered over the frame rails. There is enough slop on the body mount holes for everything to move around a little and be exactly centered. In my opinion, the best way to check is to hang the fenders and hood. hold the core support in with something temporary. vice grips, clecos, self threading screws, what ever. If the core support is shiffted left or right in comparison to the body, the hood won't fit.

I welded my core support to the aprons, made sure they were square, then welded the triangular body mounts over the holes in the frame.

The core support is definitely centered on the frame, but I think maybe the front body mounts are not,? maybe that's what your thinking of? Maybe I'm not remembering correctly but seems like one of the front mounting brackets that hangs off the frame is longer than the other...
