cowl job

Got this "restored" ebay bronco in to the shop. Unfortunately it has a lot of problems covered over. replacing the cowl at the moment. Have panels fit. Will weld them in tomorrow. Mark in San Diego, Beach City Broncos.

it is sad that people do this and take advantage of people. Im sure you will get it corrected for him.

did you not inspect the truck before you bought it? Your in the business you know better than that. You also know where all the likely rust parts are. But people make poor choices at time especially in a firecracker market where he who hesitates gets passed by. At lease the next owner wont have these problems. Good for you for fixing it right.

I did not buy this truck. A customer brought it in after he purchased it.

My theory has long been that the "trough" traps moisture exacerbating the rust problem.
Do you think adding a few dimpled vent holes would help that area to "breathe" and allow the moisture to escape?

Possibly but then they would fill up with debris that could hold moisture too. That is a tough c all. I have a fairly rust free AZ truck that still corroded in that are but had perfect rockers and jambs that are usually the first rust locations.
