I've dry-sleeved many high-performance (or rare) engine blocks over the years and never had the first issue with any of them. As long as the job is done correctly, the results can be even stronger than the original was.
My dad had that done on a '70 429 SCJ after it had dropped a valve. The old german guy that sleeved it really knew what he was doing. You absolutely could not tell it had been damaged and repaired. Flawless.
Hell, sleeve em all with thicker walls to achieve a bigger bore...then stroke it!;D
