Cropping Bumper

My front bumper is shot and rather then just tossing it I am gonna cut off the ends (only part that is still good) and reweld it together with a support behind the weld for strength.

Here is about the place I plan to cut......would a chop saw or plasma cutter be better?

Do you have acces to a plasma? A chop saw will do the trick just fine too...

I cut about 3" off each end of my front bumper with a jig saw and 3 or 4 blades. I tried to match the original bumper lines when I cut it. It did a pretty good job although it required a little patience around some of the curves.

i personally like a porta-band saw best for cutting. clean cuts etc... but a chop saw or plasma would work too. Heck you probably could cut it with a hack saw but man that would be a job!

I ran mine cut like that for a long time, (till I got a protofab bumper) and I love it. It gives you a killer departure angle, my rear is still cut like that, but I also put big rings in the frame so I can pull out heeps.
