cutting drip rail off of a hardtop

has anyone thought about or tried the above i am buying and extra top and there is some rust around the gutters being a street rodder i would like to smooth it i would weld and fill the seam after grinding off the gutter what do you all think

I was actually going to do this to my old top. All the rain gutters are good for are collecting rust unless you are going to put some type of rack on them that clamps to them.

I don't see anny reason not to do it. If you do I'de like to know how it turnes out.

i was thinking it would have a fiberglass look with the smooth edges and prevent further rust
