I believe I’m receiving a Dakota VHX gauge from my wife for Christmas. Ive been reading up on the install and understand that they want you to use their sensors for water temp, and oil pressure. How does this work with the Mustang EFI? Will I need to run two sets of each sensor? I see they offer an OBD-II interface and a few others, but nothing for the older gen computers. Am I missing something?

Dakota uses multi wire sensors that you will have to run their harnesses from their install points (Front Drivers side intake manifold and oil pressure extension tube behind PS pump) to the Dakota wire hook up panel. These are stand alone , meaning the Ford Mustang ECU doesn't need them as there is an ECT sensor in the cooling tubes for cooling temps, and unless something has been changed, it ( the Mustang ECU) doesn't monitor oil pressure.
