Dana 20 front output seal - direction verification

Hi guys,

This is a simple one - am I crazy, or was this seal installed backwards?

This is the front output shaft seal for a 73 Dana 20. You are looking at the front of mount, as you would see it if it were still mounted to the Dana 20. You can see the old RTV on the bottom of the metal piece, that would be attached to the Dana 20 directly.

I'm about to replace this seal, as it was leaking, so I want to make sure I install it correctly.

Thanks!

Wow! And I thought my PO didn't know what was going on.
When you dry fit that cover on w/o the seal, check to see if it is bent. You never know....
