I got my rebuilt 302 back Wednesday - Ford blue looks great. Thinking of painting the Dana 20 while it's laying on the garage floor. Yes, no? What color, Ford Blue? Thanks

It's yours, paint it whatever color you want.

If you want the correct original color, that is cast iron (they were not painted by Ford).

Yep, I like the Duplicolor cast iron paint. Looks natural and doesn't rust...

The Por 15 or the Duplicolor cast iron color might look nice. I had thought of Ford engine blue but then the engine would be blue, trans aluminum, transfer case blue. Blue engine, Al. trans., cast iron paint on the Dana 20 will look pretty stock. Thanks guys for your help!

I thought most of the Dana 20s were painted orange and my 70 model is.There was a discussion a few moths back about the original color and I crawled under mine and sure enough under the grease I saw orange and almost everyone else had the same color.Ford must have dropped the ball on this one or is Dana's original color from the factory orange?

My '68, '74, and '77 all had no paint. I bought the '74 and '77 new. The '77 is in the middle of a frame off and I too went with Eastwood cast iron paint. Hell I even got Eastwood's Brake gray for the combination valve, master cylinder, and calipers. The steering gear got cast iron paint. The exhaust manifolds have high temp cast iron paint.
