Dana 30 gurus, advice on internal locking hub parts

Hi, take a look at this thread, scroll to post 4 and 5 for photos and link to BC's, check link at BC's for the D30 locking hub for 1966, it looks like the internal cam and gear are the same part regardless of year, per the BC's diagram. If so, couldn't I use any dana 30 internal gear/cam with a stock 1966 outer locking hub assembly?

Particularly, the A028 and A052 are identical from 1966 through 1979?

According to my Ford parts books the A028 and A052 are the same on all EB's.
