Has anyone simply cut the bottom area of their dash off--right below the steering column-- to allow the dash to be removed without having to pull the steering wheel? Maybe add a removable patch piece to keep the dash from flexing?

Anyone?

The early dash like in my 66 were made that way originally and there is a piece already made for that.

I have a Bronco like that. The guy I bought it from cut that bottom piece off, welded two nuts to the inside of the dash, then modified the piece he cut off to bolt back in to the nuts.
