I received a Marti Report which lists the dealer as "71G416". Is there any wat of determining what dealership this is? Mark in San Diego, Beach City Broncos.

It's amazing how many small-town dealers there were back in the day. My mom worked at one in a very small village in Ohio in the late 50s and 60s (she quit working there when I was born). I remember being in the showroom where there was room for 1, maybe 2 cars. Probably 4-5 service bays out back. I think they went out of business in the late 80s. Ford did a huge consolidation effort in the 80s/90s to get rid of most of those small dealers. I still see signs (often the "A-1 Used Cars" signs) in some small western towns where dealerships once existed.

There’s a great thread over on the Fordtruckenthusiasts website, in the 1942 to 1956 F-series discussion forum. It’s called “vintage pics of days gone by“ and has an amazing number of great old vintage photos.
Many of which show little tiny auto dealers like Todd was describing, with room for a one or two cars or trucks in the show room.
It’s a great read if you have a bout a month of spare time to start from the beginning!
