Detroit Locker, Detroit Soft Locker, two different lockers?

When I talked to trac tech a few years back about the nascar ones they said they are setup so one side unlocks easier. And might not be a good choice for a 4x4 app. Have you ever noticed this happening?

I had heard rumors of this so I made sure to specifically ask the person selling in the auction about that. They assured me that at least this specific locker was not set up like that. I bought it, installed it, tested it and since have driven it at least 10K miles. It works as a Detroit locker should in both directions, but it is allot louder and more agressive than the Detroit soft locker it replaced.

That said, I do daily (or at least weekly) drive my Bronco. On the street, to the trail, thru the trail. The extra agressiveness and loudness are a bit much on the street. Sometimes I think I should have spent the extra $300 (I "won" it on EBAY for $180) and got a new soft locker. But not enought to swap it out at this point.

In case you are wondering, I replaced the soft locker because I had a bearing go bad and destroy the case of it.
