Thanks again gents, I figure this is my once (maybe last) in my lifetime build so I want it to be nice. One of the benefits of a 3 year build is, there isn't anything i'd change and do different. But i'm 3 years into it, so i've had plenty of time to consider each step.
We got the body on the frame today! Matt B has a giant vehicle lift at his work, so we took it all over there and slowly and precisely used the lift to lower the body on the chassis. Preparation is the key, and it went perfect.
One more big step complete!

Some more progress, since we're moving to Brighton Colorado in about a month I need to transport the Bronco. So I put all the body panels and doors on it with temporary bolts for the short term.
I got the steering column in, the dash in, both axles, brakes, drivelines, steering shaft and links all finished. I wanted to install the BCB Vintage Air before the dash went in but it had a delay so I'll do it the hard way
This rig is getting closer..
So it'll be wearing Colorado tags instead of Texas tags..

Looks awesome. You'll be missed in TX but there is a good group in CO as well. Since we spend most of our summers in southern CO I hope to see you up there sometime!

So we are all moved now, but not unboxed. The 69 Cordova Bronco showed up last week after being in possession of the vehicle movers for 3 weeks.
The 72 halfcab project is still in the barn at the farm in Oklahoma till I can get down and get it.
I also did something impetuous.. I bought a non running Kubota RTV900 at a Ritchie Bros auction. It was in the 'inoperable' category, something about it wouldn't start due to electrical issues. I thought, 'how bad can it be, it's a diesel?" And it was cheap, since no one takes a risk anymore, or knows how to fix things.
So i bought it, got it home and within 20 minutes of poking around I had it figure out. I found it had a burned up alternator, which blew a fuse, which also energizes the fuse to the ignition switch. So in 25 minutes I had the alternator bypassed and had the diesel running. I've got a new alternator and fuse ordered.
It'll be a fun rig to cruise around the airpark on, and Katy can push snow this winter.
Loving Colorado so far. Can't drive as fast as Texas, but there's less road rage since everyone is driving closer to the same speed.
And I haven't had a chigger bite in 6 weeks! Heck, I can walk around on grass without thinking about the consequences.
We're meeting some of our neighbors, last weekend a bunch of us flew up to Greeley for breakfast at the airport cafe.
Haven't seen a Border Patrol vehicle for weeks!
If you fly in or out of DIA you'll probably pass over us!

Nice and nice area! I've got a good friend who's retired and a transplanted okie that lives in Loveland. Fly fishes almost EVERY day that the weather is nice lol. Heads up to Estes and into RMNP mostly.

I've started tinkering with this project again. I finished the brake lines so it's ready for fluid and bleeding.
I can't finish the power steering hoses until I mount the air conditioner, so I unboxed the BCB Vintage Air kit and started mounting the Explorer bracket and compressor. The mounting ears were misaligned by 1/2 a bolt hole, and the pulley was misaligned so I cut the ears off the bracket and got it aligned and the ears tacked back on. It ruined the powder coat but at least it'll bolt up now. As soon as I can find some Argon i'll finish it.

Love your building thread. Start posting more pictures again so we who are scaredy cats to start our projects can live vicariously through your 72' build. I'm wondering, are you going to use the explorer PS pump for your 4X4X2 box or are you upgrading it. I'll be doing the exact same swap from my 2001 Explorer so I'm trying to stock-pile all the parts I can before I start. Although I'm seriously thinking of doing the Xterra steering box since mine will be a lot like yours, in that it won't be a hard core off road truck, more of a mall cruiser. Hopefully I can start my transplant next spring
