Disc Brake Proportioning Valve Wiring

Just installed the TBP disc brake proportioning valve and there is a wire that comes off the middle of the valve. I understand this is for a brake warning light. I also have all new wiring, how do i go about wiring this? My prop valve only has a single wire.

Thanks.

All new wiring? What type or brand? Home made?
Generally speaking, the companies that put Brake Warning light wiring in their harnesses include two wires just like the factory did. If yours is one of these (would be Gray wires in a Centech harness I think?) then simply twist them together and crimp/solder join them to the one wire coming from your new switch.

It's an Ez harness, will look for the wires.

I'm using factory wiring. There was one wire going down to old proportioning valve. New proportioning valve has two wires. Still think I should tie them together and hook to the single wire?

Hey!!! Let me hold a dollar I'm in the middle of a restore here!

Probably don't have any on that harness I wouldn't think.
But you never know...
There are others using that harness as well, so maybe one of them will chime in with an authoritative answer?

Hmm, strange one. You sure your wiring is factory? What color is the one wire going down to the valve now?
And what color wires coming out of the connector?

To my knowledge the truck has never been re wired I feel like I would remember that taking place. Colors for factory are: purple and pink??

And black for new wire

No problem Poppaw. You wrote the orientation backwards. What you meant is that your old wiring has two wires from the chassis to the old H-block. What you are showing in your pics is indeed the old factory wiring. Your second pic shows the new single-wire connector for your aftermarket proportioning valve.

So yes, just like you've read, you cut the old 2-wire connector off, twist the two wires together, then attach them to your new 1-wire connector.
