You can ream it out to .531 (I think!!! Don't quote me) or I bought a bronze one to fit my 5.0 TFI distributor from summit, crane cams.

If you don't wan't to spend the money, I will check the dimensions when I go home, but I am sure someone will chime in first.

I was chicken that I would not get the gear right and I would have it bouncing around my engine till it ground to a catasrophic halt, but I am paranoid about my lack of mechanical abilities.

It's supposed to be a press fit. The roll pin is just a belt-and-suspenders kind of thing, in case it tries to turn a little. Don't see anything wrong with reaming it though. FWIW when I needed to put a new gear on my TFI dizzy, I didn't have a press so I just threw the gear in boiling water and the dizzy in the freezer. 10 minutes later I tried assembling it. The gear slid right on, I just held it in place till it cooled. Easy.

I got a gear from MSD for 12 bucks. While trying to beat mine on I broke it so that sucked real bad. The ones I had been looking at were like 50 bucks.

The right gear can be bought at any at any speed shop.

Yeah, you can get a Ford Motorsport gear for no more than you will pay for the junk bronze/brass things. I tried one of the bronze things, the piece of junk had noticeable wear after about 1,000 miles.
