I’m building an engine now and I’m planning to put the Vortech super charger on it. I’ve read a couple post about them but they didn’t give great pictures or disruptions. I’m just looking for some tips. Thanks

I've built a couple with the Powerdynes...similar setup. What were you wanting to know?
Pic of the 5.0 that had a Powerdyne...700R4 trans and D20 tcase behind it.

The bracket that holds everything on the passenger side of the engine puts the alternator down low with the smog pump above that and the super charger on top. I saw that one guy notched his frame to make it work but I don’t want to do that. Another guy removed the smog pump and moved the alternator up. That’s what I’d like to do but I’d love to see a picture or two. Also is there enough room for a electric fan to fit between the engine and radiator? I saw a picture that a guy cut his core support and moved the radiator forward.

As you can probably make out in the picture above, the Powerdyne mounted high on pass side and the alternator high on dr. side, with PS pump under that.

If I recall correctly, that '68 had a 2" BL, so that obviously helped.

So..quite a different arrangement than what you are describing.

Found another pic...

Do any of these kits use an Explorer accessory drive? I know Explorer Express once made a supercharger kit.

What accessory drive packages is everyone basing these supercharger kits on? I'm guessing mustangs?

I always thought a set like STS turbo system would be pretty cool.
The down stream turbo might be easier to package, and was it the Salen explorer have the super charger in the valley where the intake goes. Just going off of memory which bad

"most" of what you see on that one I built was from the donor engine...an '87 Mustang 5.0. But ended up with some custom bracket pieces too.

So from the pictures it looks like that I will have to move the radiator fwd Whether I use an electric fan or regular fan. It looks like you moved the alternator up and got rid of the smog pump. What else?

Radiator is moved forward and down. Body is lifted 1" to clear supercharger to hood and position fan correctly. Mechanical fan is the way to go as there is not an electric with enough cfm that is thin enough to clear. Power steering pump is a PSC with remote reservoir on custom bracket. Alternator is mounted low where the smog pump would be and I modified the Vortech bracket to get it above the frame. I used an old Ford alt bracket as well.
