70 Steve, you're the man !

Thanks for the info - I'll confirm the measurements after install and will post so others can have it. However, all the posts are within an 1/8 inch of each other so I'm sure they are very close.

Thanks again and regards,

Call around to the glass shops - one of them will have a pattern that they can use. You don't want it "close", you want it exact. The only thing holding that windshield in is the rubber gasket, so if it's a "little" small all the way around, then it can a) leak and b) fly out when you least expect it or want it to. Yep, it's happend. Windshield glass is laminated(a piece of thin plastic sandwiched between 2 pieces of glass), not tempered. Side glass/Back glass is tempered. The reason it's that way is because you don't want to fly through the windshield in an accident - that's why it's called "safety glass". Side/back glass on the other hand is tempered so it shatters into a gazillion little pieces and provides an escape hatch. So you want that winshield to fit tight.

Since our EB's use flat glass on their windshields, I guarantee that a local shop in a city the size of Houston will have a pattern. I owned a glass shop a long, long time ago - and also owned an EB. That pattern was in my pattern library.

Just my 2 cents.

I just called a buddy in the biz -- he's checking to see if he's got a pattern -- I should know something shortly...I come down to Houston often and could bring you one if you can wait a few days...

I just got a windshield locally. I thought I'd have to have one cut, but several of the places I called had one in stock. I just picked the cheapest one.

Yep -- that's the same story my buddy just told me here -- much to my surprise, the glass companies are still making them - and they are cheap. Nice.

curious what you ended up paying? i hear a wide variety of pricing.
$90. A hand cut one from stock flat glass would be cheaper, but coming from a manufacturer, it will already have the edges ground nice and smoothe.

I just called my insurance agent and it did not cost me a dime. I think I even got some free dinners with it.
yes it did -- it's called premium. ;D
