I'd love to find a slide-in camper top that will work on an Early Bronco. Kinda like the old ones in the 60's and 70's that the aftermarket companies made that would slide in out Broncos. Maybe something that was used in the 80's and 90's for small Toyota truck, Datsun, Nissan, Small Chevy truck, etc... Something that I might find in a Broken down truck in someones yard or a junk yard might still have laying around weathering away. Something Uncle Louie used to camp his fat ass in, back a few years ago, but has since (14 years ago)parked the vehicle and Aunt Flo wants the whole damn thing moved and I can have it for $50.00 bucks. You know what Im getting at?Does anyone know of anything that will work? Surely somebody has done it, or tried to make a newer style one fit. Any ideas? Here is a pic of one that actualy pops up which would be cool too, but I would be fine with a rigid one like in the second pic. I know Broncolove says someone makes them in Colorodo, but I can't afford those, I am also no where near Colorodo. Just wanna make something fit.

I would also like info on this subject. I think those camper tops look pretty cool, and it would be great on camping trips/roadtrips. How expensive are the tops in colorado?

Might be tough to fit around any type of rollcage. I did see a Jeep at a mud rally that had a large camper on it that was rigged with a tag axle that mounted to the receiver hitch for stability.
I built a trailer like the old military style but used a tortional axle for extra clearance and I plan to add a tent-lid to the top. I've already wheeled the hell out of it and it tracks beautifully even on the tightest of trails.

I don't know what else would fit, but I do know the ones made specifically for Broncos are really hard to come by and get snatched up very quickly when they are discovered. If it was me, I'd start measuring beds at the junkyard to come up with a list of potential suspects, then I'd keep an eye on ebay for any of those vehicles.

Cool pictures in this one, especially the "Broncette":
