%) %) %) I think you can find a BB in any year bronco as my 66 has one and the 68 also. In about 76/77 they made a BB with the small brakes. But the bronco is all by itself in size, or you can cut one down from a F 100/150 truck but will get a different typ of bearing. It will be a 31 spline and a roller bearing good luck. %) %) %) Bill  %) :p

That is correct. The Medium Bearing or Big Bearing axle was an option through most if not all years. As was stated above the width is specific to the EB only though and the housings at least up through 76 are not very strong in comparison to Big Bronco housings. (They have a straight tube instead of the tapered tube) For this reason I decided to get one cut down to the EB width.

Mine came out of a 67-72 F100. If you get the later years they have 31 spline axles. Both axle shafts are the same length as the EB long axle, but you can't tell except that the pumpkin isn't centered anymore. It also has 11 x2 1/4 inch brakes like the 76-77 EB.

You're saying this axle bolts up without modification?

dont know how much you guys are willing to spend but i got curries extreme duty housing, its got thicker and biger tubes and tappers alot more than the 77 does and the center is thicker too, it was like 375$ brand new. you can also have a fill hole and drain plug put on them or a diff cover if you want. im just real happy with mine and it was real easy,no junkyard searching, no worrying abot cracks or previous bearing being spun so the bore is no good.

I've got a new complete (Sunray ;D ) axle that I'm putting in my rig. Getting rid of the one that's under there now. Pretty cheap (I think) even though it does need a new shaft on the drivers side. The axle is completely 100% OEM stock out of my 76.

PM me if you're interested

I believe that the 77 axle should bolt right up. The driveshaft shouldn't change, the spring perches should be in the same place. Shock mounts shouldn't change unless you've changed them. E-brake cables will need to be hooked up. You should check the wheel cylinders and brakes to make sure they are in good working order, but other than that, if it's compete you should be good.

My 70 came with small bearing and small brake housing. I have since upgraded the housing to a large bearing unit, but I still need to upgrade axles to 35 spline...still running the 28 spline with a mini spool and 35" Boggers with no problems. I like the Currie idea, if the one I used wasn't given to me I would have probably went that way..
One note, the large bearing retainers I used came from a 73 F100 pick up with a full width 9", and it had the 28 spline axles...so if you are looking for 31 spline...keep an eye out.
