Door striker backing plate

I need to move my door latch striker back slightly and it's clear one of the screws will have to be drilled. Is there any trick to replacing the door latch striker backing plate? I am pretty certain it will be toast when I'm done. I can just see it through the rear wheel well but there doesn't seem to be much space to slide it out. Appears to be a small tab to bend back to release it as well.

Thanks for any advice you have.

I just replaced mine. There is a tab on top and bottom that is spot welded. There is an additional tab that is on the left (facing from the wheel well) use a screwdriver and pry back that tab, the door latch plate will slide out side ways..it is tight though. I also pushed the tab out from the inside door jamb area through the screw holes and then bent it back more from the wheel well area. Good luck.
