Driver door Post replacement... Questions

I did both mine several years ago. After struggling for weeks to get them set right, I tried just putting the fenders back on and lining up the old bolt marks in the paint and screwing the fender to the new door post. That lined up the door post in the stock position. I stood back in amazement as to how easy it was and I had both sides done in just hours.
