My driver side headlight stopped working recently only works in high beam. The passenger side works so that rules out headlight switch & fuse . Before i start digging and troubleshooting thought someone might have faced this here any quick checks i can do? I have painless wiring harness under 1yr old. Regular halogen headlamps under 1yr old.

I’d start simple, is the low beam filament burnt out? I would try to switch the headlights side to side and see if the problem switches to the passenger side. If it does, then you could be quite confident that the filament is burnt out. If it stays on the drivers side, then more digging would need to be done on the wiring. Could be a wire pulled out of the pigtail, etc. I’d start with the basics and go from there.

Yeah I would check the bulb first. Get a $3 test light from Harbor Freight and you can probably just touch the blade on the back of the bulb with the pointy tip without even unplugging anything. But always also test a known good source like across the battery terminals just to verify that your test equipment is working.
Link to Harbor Freight.

Yeah, they are wired in series and not a separate circuit to each so if one works and the other doesn't, chances are that it's the bulb. (and drivers side to pass so even more likely that it's the bulb).

Glad you got it!
