Instructions say side b but mufflers have no markings at all. There in a center opening on one side and an upper opening on the other. Which way goes towards the engine. I feel really stupid Please Help.
Thanks,
Roy H.

Raharr-

The offset side goes forward, centered to the rear. I hope you didn't get an old instruction sheet because I revised them. We had a lot of confusion, so I added a picture to show offset is side A and centered is side B. Let me know if you need me to email you a copy! HTH! Suzanne

p.s. It IS going to be a tight fit with those arms, just be prepared. Keep everything real loose until you're sure your clamps and collectors aren't going to rub. ;)

It's good to see more Duff's people on here. You may find this sight very valuable for product development ideas and I'm sure you will be very valuable in answering questions about your products (other questions too I'm sure)

Thanks, I've been on for a long time but never really posted much. Unfortunately, I'm on here when I should be working %) (on the new catalog)... And Yes, you are correct it is a wealth of information! It helps to know what you guys are doing for mods and what problems you run into on our products too. Suzanne

I had the same quandary when I got my exhaust system from Duffs also. I mailed to there tech support about the direction of the mufflers and their response was:

>The centered port goes to the front towards the headers. Please let me >know if there is anything else that I can assist you with.
>Sincerely,
>Scotty
>Sr. Customer Support Rep

Now I read that the offset goes towards the headers? I've been running this way for months. Have I done some damage to the mufflers? Does sound good though.....

No, you're good. We recommend offset forward because that allows you to get the muffler tucked up under the body the closest and makes for good routing of the rear pipe around the shock mounts. You haven't done any damage, the mufflers can go either way! ;) Now, I've really got check and see if my revised instruction sheet isn't going out! I did a really nice job on it with lots of pictures and labels for where the clamps go! :-[ AND I have to scold Scotty for not giving the correct answer  Suzanne

Thanks Suzanne,

Your reply makes me feel a whole lot better, and also reinforces what I read on the Cherry Bomb web sight about installing them either way. Scotty's "Way" did make it easier to tuck up under like ya said, and if I'm not doing any damage the way they are, no problem here. He's always been helpful with questions and I respect his Bronco knowledge. So as far as I'm concerned, case closed and thanks.
