I did 1" on each side. I have aftermarket rear fenders "for now" They don't fit the same and stick out about .5-.75" further. If you have stock fenders I think you will need 1" on both sides.
If I was to do it again I would have gone a slightly smaller tire and not done any of itI don't think the effort was worth it.
So, with a rear axle a full 2" narrower than the front, can you visually detect it? My fear would be that the front and rear tires wouldn't line up, and that this would be visually apparent.
My builder has spec'd .5" off each side for 1" total (new Camburg fab rear housing, Currie ends), and plans to to nip/tuck/roll the rear fenders as needed. And a new perch obviously.
I hope we get it right!
